Inverloch
One of the states original ports Inverloch is a rapidly growing holiday and residential seaside village approximately 2 hours south-east of Melbourne via the South Gippsland and Bass Highways.
The V-Line coach service runs from Spencer Street to Inverloch and Inverloch to Spencer Street 7 days a week. Three times a day during the week. Saturday twice. Sunday once. Further information 136 196.
Inverloch is situated on Anderson Inlet where water activities never cease – surfers, wind and kite surfers, water skiers, scuba divers, fishermen and the yachties from the South Gippsland Yacht Club whose craft have multi coloured sails which can be seen from many vantage points around town.
Anderson Inlet is amazingly shallow and has often been described as probably the most dynamic estuary in Victoria.
Low tide sees the sandy bottom exposed providing a veritable banquet for the many species of water birds, while the Tarwin River continues to flow through to the sand bar forming a barrier to the open waters of Bass Strait.
