Remote Point Hicks approx 50kms from Cann River was the first part of the Australian mainland, eastern seaboard to be seen by Captain Cook in 1770. The lighthouse complex built in 1890 has an imposing concrete tower and two timber and stone residences. A feature of the tower is its cast iron spiral staircase. Spectacular 360 degree coastal views from the top.
