Fishing/Fishing Charters
Lakes Entrance and surrounding waterways are a fishermans paradise with several easy access boat ramps allowing access to the rich fishing grounds. Before venturing out seek local advice especially if you intend to cross the bar. Fishing from the jetties is a very popular pastime. Hire boats are found on the North Arm (Marine Parade) no license required and you can hire everything. More information below.
Good fishing is also to be had along the jetties on the North Arm and the Esplanade call into the local bait shop on the Esplanade for up to date fishing news.
Lakes Entrance is home to a large fishing fleet which supply Lakes Entrance Fishermen's Co-Op fish shop on Bullock Island.
So if you are looking for a variety of locally caught fresh fish, crays in season, prawns, oysters, mussels, etc etc then the Off The Wharf Fresh Fish shop is the place to shop.
Eastern Beach , Bunga Beach, Lake Tyers surf beach, both sides of the entrance.
Best baits are white and blue bait and live bait.
