Shallow Inlet
Shallow Inlet 26 kms south of Foster is a protected tidal inlet off Waratah Bay which is framed by sand dunes and farmland in a picturesque setting.
As well as a safe harbour for small boats, it is home of the windsurfer. A pretty site in summer is the blue water of the inlet dotted with multi-coloured sails. World speed sailing (windsurfing) has been held here.
At Shallow Inlet (western side) you can actually take your car right onto the beach and drive to your preferred parking site. An off-beach car park facilitates vehicles at times of very high tides. Picnic tables, toilets and BBQ available for the day tripper.
Shallow Inlet Caravan Park is situated on the eastern end of Shallow Inlet and is accessed from the Prom Road turn right at Lester Road. Ray standard or ensuite cabins are available. |
