Fish Creek
Population 200: The gateway to Wilsons Promontory this small rural village has many businesses supplying your holiday needs such as petrol and food.
Art and craft shops and outlets frequent the area with many talented artists, potters and sculpters living in and around this small hamlet. Also there are several local wineries in the immediate area.
Fish Creek is recognized and remembered by all who have visited. As you enter the town from the Melbourne side you will see The Fishy Pub, and on the corner of the pub’s roof is a huge fibreglass fish – have no idea why it’s there, but it would be the most photographed fish on the coast.
Internet access is available from Roo Fuel opposite The Pub.
The visitor is well catered for in Fish Creek with public toilets in the main street just past the hotel, and a great family park with childrens playground, bbq’s, picnic tables and a rotunda in case the weather is a bit wet located behind the service station. |
