For the rod and line fisherman, great opportunities to land a decent fish from the jetties at Cowes, Newhaven, Rhyll and San Remo, or try your luck from the many surf beaches around the island. For your own safety be aware of tide movements and do not fish of rocks unless you are experienced. Do not have a boat, but like the idea of fishing in the bay you can hire a boat at Rhyll and get out amongst the snapper in Western Port Bay. Charter boats operate from Rhyll, and San Remo
