Gipsy Point
Is a small hamlet nestled in the far eastern corner of the Victoria in the heart of the 100,000 hectare Croajingalong National Park designated a “World Biosphere Reserve” combining undisturbed natural habitats supporting rare and significant plants and animals. There are 100 kilometers of coastline, 320 kilometers of lake shoreline and countless river, freshwater creeks and mountain rivers to explore.
Gipsy Point situated on the banks of the Wallagaraugh River is the ideal base for you to explore the waterways down to Mallacoota or up to the Genoa River. The fishing is very good and the bird life you will see in their natural habitat will leave you with memories you will never forget. You may even be lucky enough to see a majestic Sea Eagle snatching a bream from the waters of the inlet.
Visitors to the area cannot believe the resident kangaroos who wander around at their leisure, usually taking no notice of the visitors, but do not get to close as they are wild animals.
If you do not have a boat good fish are also caught from the jetty
