There is much to see and do in Lakes Entrance. The Summer Carnival runs from mid December to end January The Shell Museum is one of Australia's largest museums of Natural Sealife Visit the new Aqua Park on the other side of the footbridge. Visit spectacular Buchan Caves (50 minute drive from Lakes Entrance). Have a hit of tennis at the Aquadome, or a game of bowls at the Bowling Club. Cruise the Gippsland Lakes or Hire A Boat from Charlie at Blue Riviera and explore the North Arm, nothing like it on a summers day. The Aboriginal Art Gallery is located at Forestec a couple of kilometres on the Melbourne side of town, well worth your time and there is no admittance charge. Nyerimilang Heritage Park perfect for that family picnic and the homestead is set on a cliff top overlooking the Gippsland Lakes. Lakes Entrance Helicopters is an experience to remember, see the iconic Gippsland Lakes from above. Ask about their packaged Heli experiences.
Mid December and January Summer Holidays on the Esplanade foreshore 6pm nightly (weather permitting). Bring the family, rides galore including the 'Nitro Caster' roller coaster, jumping castles, carousel, dodgem cars, ferris wheel, side shows and much, much more. Great Holiday Fun!
