Wallagaraugh River
Wallagaraugh River Retreat is one of the most beautiful and tranquil places along the Wilderness Coast of Victoria.
The turnoff to this piece of the Croajingolong National Park is approx 6kms from Genoa on the Princes Highway heading toward the NSW border. Turn right onto the dirt track which takes you 7kms into the pristine bush to the Wallagaraugh River.
Nestled on the banks of the Wallagaraugh River this gently rolling park includes eight cabins and plenty of grassed van and camping sites, all with a wonderful outlook across the peaceful waters of the river only interrupted by the occasional fish jumping above the surface.
From your hosts Lynette and David:
We offer riverfront cabins and camping in a secluded bush setting. Our guests enjoy the quiet and tranquility of the area. The property is situated on the Wallagaraugh River, well known for its excellent fishing. The most popular activities at the retreat are boating, canoeing, swimming, fishing, bird and wildlife watching and bushwalking.
Local tourist towns of Mallacoota, Eden and Merimbula are within 1hours drive.
Wallagaraugh River Retreat is unlike most caravan parks, the property runs on generator power, evenings only. We hope to provide a bush experience with campfires popular in the evenings.
The property is remote and doesn't have a store.
Editors Note: Be aware that you need to arrive well prepared with all necessary supplies such food, drink, linen, blankets and pillows. There is no mobile phone reception. And if it is in winter take it easy on the dirt road in and out. |
