Excellent all-weather and all tides ramps for boat launching and retrieval are provided at Tarwin Lower, Venus Bay, Toora, Port Welshpool and Port Albert.
Shore based fishing depends heavily on land access the most popular spots are the jetties at Tarwin Lower, Venus Bay, Port Franklin, (near Foster) Port Welshpool, Port Albert.
Port Franklin
Small fishing settlement approx 15km from Foster is a port for boats to enter Corner Inlet along the Franklin River. Local families who still live in the town have fished the Inlet for generations. The Cripps family have a fresh fish shop on the wharf. Or take a line and fish from the jetty near the Co-Op.
Corner Inlet
Large inlet off Bass Strait has many secluded beaches with foot access only. Great fishing. Launch your boat from 24 hour concrete all tides ramp at Port Welshpool.

There are four boat launching facilities for Anderson Inlet.
Inverloch Boat Ramp larger boats are advised to enter from the Esplanade (charges apply).
Mahers Landing provides good access but does require a person to hold the boat whilst parking the car and boat trailer.
Fishermans Jetty Venus Bay boats to 14 foot can comfortably access the inlet 2 hours either side of the tide.
Tarwin River boat ramp is best 4 hours either side of the high tide, but access to the inlet can be limited to 2 hours either side of the high tide.

Inverloch Boat ramp + 20 min
Stevie's Gutter + 45 min
Mahers Landing + 1 hour
Venus Bay Boat Ramp + 1 hour 30 minutes
Mouth of Tarwin River +2 hours,
Tarwin River, at the pub + 3 hours.
Highway Bridge Tarwin River + 3 hours 30 minutes. (Note these are annual averages only and vary each day. Differences over 60 minutes must be treated with caution, Courtesy of Port of Melbourne).
