A delightful collection of artefacts from wrecks between Childers cove and Moonlight Head is on display at the 12 Apostles Visitor Information Centre Port Campbell. A 1/60th scale model of the Loch Ard allows visitors to reference the size of the ship against actual hardware including a kedging anchor on display.

| Silver Gulls also known as Sea Gulls nest from August to December. Males in the colony establish a small territory and are then joined by a female, usually the mate from the previous year. Nests are built on the ground so they can spot any predators approaching. Between 2-4 olive blotched eggs are laid and both partners share nesting duties. The eggs take 21-27 days to hatch. |

Always swim between the flags marking the area safer for swimming.
Read and obey the signs
Be careful where you dive accidents often result from diving into shallow waters.
Be aware of slippery banks and rocks when fishing
Dont swim under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Always swim under supervision
If you get into trouble in the water, stay calm. Signal for help, then float and wait for assistance
Float with a current or undertow. Dont try to swim against it.
When out on the water always wear the correct safety equipment. |

Presents a gently sloping family friendly profile sheltered from the bulk of Southern Ocean swell. Waters inside the pier are generally suitable for swimming and wading and are patrolled during summer season. Address: Cairns Street Port Campbell.
Swimming is not recommended at any of the open ocean beaches.

Port Campbell: Great fun fishing from the jetty or book a fishing charter through the Info Centre. Surf fishing also popular. Peterborough: When the bream are biting the estuary attracts fishermen from all over. Salmon, snapper and gummy are caught off the beaches whilst bream, mullet and estauary perch are caught on the Curdies River.
Princetown: The estuary of the Gellibrand river fishes well fro bream, trevally, eel and mullet. From the surf catches of salmon, snapper, trevally and gummy shark are common. |

Princetown Beach
Surging shorebreak has caught many seasoned campaigners unawares so please be careful.
Species: Australian Salmon, trevally, snapper, gummy shark. Location: Turn off the Great Ocean Road onto Old Coach Road East 18km east of Port Campbell.
Access: Via a 650m sandy track (steep in parts) from the north of the parking area or by following the sandy banks of the Gellibrand River to its mouth 750m.
Caution: Gravel road gives way to deep sand very quickly visitors without 4WD need to take the first opportunity to turn right when approaching the small car parking area.
Port Campbell Pier:
Great spot to try for luck. Fishing in deep water from ocean jetty
Species: Australian salmon, squid, trevally,
Location: Lord Street Port Campbell
Access: Pedestrians share access with vehicles and boat trailers launching via the crane on the pier. Access is reasonable to the upper level, steps to the lower level.
Newfield Bay:
Species: Australian salmon, trevally, snapper, gummy shark
Location: 11km east of Port Campbell
Access: From car parks on the east side of the Peterborough bridge (steep sandy tracks.) Access (when the Curdies river mouth is closed) is also possible from the main car park on the west side of the bridge. |
