By Car: Follow the Princes Highway (M1) from Melbourne to Geelong
Distance 75km – 1 hour then take the Great Ocean Road (B100) through Torquay to Lorne 48km – 67km approx 1hour 15 minutes
During peak periods travelling times will undoubtably increase on the Great Ocean Road so you may wish to travel the (A1) to Waurn Ponds turn left to Moriac follow the Cape Otway Road turning left onto (C151) to Deans Marsh then onto Lorne. Generally a lot quicker and the roads are good. Or you can follow the (A1) to Winchelsea turn left onto (C151) to Deans Marsh the Lorne.

Getting to Phillip Island By Car:
Take the South Eastern Arterial (M1) to the Cranbourne exit, where you will turn into the South Gippsland Hwy M420. Follow to the Bass Hwy A420 which will take you through Grantville, past Corinella and Bass. Turn onto the Phillip Island Tourist Road (B420) through to San Remo over the bridge and you are on the island with 18kms to Cowes.

Dogs Some Port Fairy beaches do allow dogs between 9am and 6pm daily for the period 1st December until 1st May. Please check the Visitor Information Centre for details. Dogs are never allowed onto Griffith Island. Owners must keep their dogs on a lead in the area bounded by Campbell, James, Regent and Williams Streets, King George Square and Martins Point.
