	Tides
	Anglers visiting the area for the first time will need to pay attention to the tides. The Venus Bay surf beaches are within 10 minutes of the Port Phillip Bay Heads. Mahers Landing boat ramp is approximately 1 hour later. Fisherman’s Jetty 1hr 30 minutes later. Tarwin River boat ramp 3 hours later.

	Local Boat Ramps
	There are four boat launching facilities for Anderson Inlet. Inverloch Boat Ramp larger boats are advised to enter from the Esplanade (charges apply). Mahers Landing provides good access but does require a person to hold the boat whilst parking the car and boat trailer. Fishermans Jetty Venus Bay boats to 14 foot can comfortably access the inlet 2 hours either side of the tide. Tarwin River boat ramp is best 4 hours either side of the high tide, but access to the inlet can be limited to 2 hours either side of the high tide.
